Bob,
I would like to thank you for the fabulous hospitality extended to me and
the youth from NCLC. They had such a great time and they are looking
forward to our next time together. They talked all the way home, sang songs
and wanted to know when our next get together would be. I hope I can lasso
up a few for next Wednesday as well.

For those who are wondering, "why should I  bring my youth to another
church to hang out?" or "I don't have time to plan youth stuff for 4
students or less" then this is the best thing ever! Our church at NCLC has
a handful or so of Jr & Sr high students. We cannot afford a youth person
right now. Starting to sound familiar? But when we join up with the other
churches who have just a few, we start to have a lot. Last night, there
were 18 students in various ages and stages who got together, played, ate,
and shared stories of faith. Even if you have just 1, it would be worth
trying to make some of these get together's. Heck, maybe you have a
thriving youth/student group but would love for them to meet more local
Lutherans, then please send an invite out to this group to come to your
events.

I am working on a Facebook page, "South Bay Lutheran Youth (ELCA)" for lack
of a better name. This would give us a place to go for just youth info,
events, etc. If you have any ideas or a better name- let me know. So far, I
have not found a better platform for event planning then FB- easy to
navigate, find, etc. Most adults use it and some students do as well. I
hope to see more of you over the next few months as we look at new ways of
being "church together."
