I love this conversation. I too would like to continue meeting monthly. I b=
elieve a blend of all of these will work. Let's say each host determines wh=

BTW Bob, I noted on my calendar that St Luke's would host on October 6th. I=
s that still an invitation?=20

We still need a host for Thursday, August 11th? Anyone interested?=20

Possible Topics for Discussion with Colleagues in Ministry=20

At the Tuesday text study this week there was some discussion about topics =
of conversation we would find helpful as we gather with colleagues. What ca=
n we discuss that would help us to grow as ministers? Are there some guidel=
ines that would promote the building up of one another without fostering fe=
elings of competition? I think we all want to be accepted and esteemed by o=
ur peers so we tend to tell our best stories and may have a harder time sha=
ring our struggles or areas where we want to grow. A couple of ideas might =
be, "How do you keep yourself encouraged when ministry can feel discouragin=
g?" or "What are some ways to minister to the dying?" I found it helpful at=
 a lunch gathering at the Christian Counseling Center when they took this l=
ast topic and had one fellow who was particularly gifted in this area share=
 his approach with local ministers. There was some wisdom imparted that hel=
ped me in my own ministry in an area where I can feel uncomfortable. Someth=
ing to think about. Feel free to keep the conversation going with a reply.=
