This is all so cool! Look at all the things we're doing together!
Thank you everyone, for sharing your ideas and needs so that we can all be
invited to collaborate with you! Bob & Cristina, your youth group sounds so
great and as I'm starting to talk it up with our youth - I hope we can
bring them soon. Please be patient with us as we try to adjust their
usually full schedules to include this new opportunity. It might take us
some time.
I'm excited about our continued gathering and how it will develop as our
conference community changes. See you all in August if not before then!
Peace,
Manda

Possible Topics for Discussion with Colleagues in Ministry

At the Tuesday text study this week there was some discussion about topics =
of conversation we would find helpful as we gather with colleagues. What ca=
n we discuss that would help us to grow as ministers? Are there some guidel=
ines that would promote the building up of one another without fostering fe=
elings of competition? I think we all want to be accepted and esteemed by o=
ur peers so we tend to tell our best stories and may have a harder time sha=
ring our struggles or areas where we want to grow. A couple of ideas might =
be, "How do you keep yourself encouraged when ministry can feel discou=
raging?" or "What are some ways to minister to the dying?" I=
found it helpful at a lunch gathering at the Christian Counseling Center w=
hen they took this last topic and had one fellow who was particularly gifte=
d in this area share his approach with local ministers. There was some wisd=
om imparted that helped me in my own ministry in an area where I can feel u=
ncomfortable. Something to think about. Feel free to keep the conversation =
going with a reply.
