To all,

=A0We see these immigrants in our land as people who practice raising their=
 families in America the land of the free; but bondage to consumerism.
Many of the immigrant families that are struggling to makes ins meat in our=
 economy are not hurting as much as the ones who were living the hi Life. W=
e see that in the mortgage crisis as it unfolds.
But as some decide to go back to their hometown, and face their loved ones =
with a look that we are not welcomed any more is pretty degrading.
Shame on us, if we have failed to help the needy and the oppressed.
Because God will not ask us how big our house was? but how many we gave she=
lter too. we might say I had a great car, he will ask how many people did y=
ou give rides to.=20

o, I am not sure that what one country does, or does not do, gives or denie=
s credence to what another country does. Were that the case, what bar would=
 we set; Burma?
As for being the descendant of immigrants; we all are. Bea, is an immigrant=
 and I sense some pain in that transition from Germany to here. I could be =
wrong. She seems to be writing from experience, not speculation.
As for the job loss question; maybe another place to look would be the (now=
 global) wage disparity. It seems to me, that when so much is concentrated =
into the hands of so few, someone is going to go hungry. Were it, that as m=
uch energy that is put into stopping poor people from finding a way to feed=
 there loved ones would be put into dealing with the financial products suc=
h as Credit Default Swaps etc., there actually might be "enough" to go arou=
nd.=20
I don't recall the admonishment in Matthew 25 to only include those within =
our borders. And while I am not sure where the solution is, but I can't ima=
gine that it is in denying the starving -food to eat.

We are to see Christ in the neighbor who is the illegal immigrant.=A0 But w=

aith communities have had in mobilizing the immigrant community.

As clergy, we are morally outraged at the unjust and inhumane treatment of =
immigrants in Arizona. =A0History calls us to respond in with powerful, fai=

age from grass roots faith leaders has given those who hate immigrants a pl=

I am imploring that you participate in the May 1 march and rally.
 =A0We will have a powerful prayer ritual in the beginning of the march. Cl=
ergy from all denominations are asked to make your way to the foot of the s=
tage at 3:30 pm and help bless and distribute sweet bread to the crowd. =A0=
The bread will signify the unity we share with one another, especially betw=
een immigrant and non-immigrant. =A0Please wear some kind of clerical garb =
or religious symbol that will signify your role within your faith tradition=
.

I ask that you please join the march and stand with the thousands of people=
 who are praying for the unity of their loved ones. Having a strong, visibl=
e clergy presence has helped maintain the spiritual and peaceful atmosphere=
 among participants. The march will end with a rally at the City Hall at =
=A06 pm.

owerful tone due to three factors: the most prominent is what happened in A=
rizona last week: the introduction of Arizona's SB 1070, the law that will =
legitimize the practice of unreasonable search and seizure, unwarranted det=
ention of American citizens and racial profiling. &nbsp; The second factor:=
 the introduction of a conceptual framework on comprehensive
 immigration reform in the Senate. &nbsp;The third: the powerful effect tha=
t faith communities have had in mobilizing the immigrant community.<br><br>=
As clergy, we are morally outraged at the unjust and inhumane treatment of =
immigrants in Arizona. &nbsp;History calls us to respond in with powerful, =
faithful witness. Silence from people of good will and the lack of public o=
utrage from grass roots faith leaders has given those who hate immigrants a=
 platform for their divisive rhetoric. &nbsp;Anti-immigrant personalities f=
lood the news shows on conservative-leaning media with false data on immigr=
ants. Commentaries from television personalities such as Glenn Beck, Sean H=
annity and JD Hayworth have solidified a base of angry anti-immigrant activ=
ists. &nbsp;Hate incidents and hate crimes against immigrants is on the ris=
e in nearly all 50 states, including here in Santa Clara County.<br><br>I a=
m imploring that you participate in the May 1 march and rally.
 &nbsp;We will have a powerful prayer ritual in the beginning of the march.=
 Clergy from all denominations are asked to make your way to the foot of th=
e stage at 3:30 pm and help bless and distribute sweet bread to the crowd. =
&nbsp;The bread will signify the unity we share with one another, especiall=
y between immigrant and non-immigrant. &nbsp;Please wear some kind of cleri=
cal garb or religious symbol that will signify your role within your faith =
tradition.<br><br>I ask that you please join the march and stand with the t=
housands of people who are praying for the unity of their loved ones. Havin=
g a strong, visible clergy presence has helped maintain the spiritual and p=
eaceful atmosphere among participants. The march will end with a rally at t=
