Dear colleagues and friends!

A bit of explanation of the notes Ann sent to everyone.

At the June 1st Thursday meeting a group (names listed below) was charged
with thinking Out of the Box around sharing resources with the goal of
revitalizing our congregations and leaders.

We have had two deeply thoughtful and honest conversations about working
together to become a more vital Christian (Lutheran) presence in the
Valley, discussing our passion for such an effort, the challenges and the
possibilities.

At the next 1st Thursday gathering we wanted to expand the conversation to
include all of you. Our goal is to have every congregation represented by
clergy or a key lay leader.

In preparation for that meeting, here are some questions to ponder:

   - What currently invigorates you in the church? your work?


   - What pains you? What do you ache for?
   - In the church
      - In the world


   -  What is your dream / vision?
   - For the church
      - For the world


   - What fuels your passion? What is the greatest passion killer?

We believe this is an important conversation and we want everyone to have a
chance to participate. Eventually we want to include broader participation
and input from members of our congregations to join the conversation.

So expect a call with a special invite - your voice is important! If you
can't make it, think about someone from your congregation who should be
invited.

Hope to see you Thursday, September 4, 12-2pm at Christ the Good Shepherd
in San Jose.
