Hi -

One of the many bad side-effects of folks using HTML for email,
which is why I'm careful to avoid sending HTML email.  But I can't
stop other folks from doing so.  :-(

In your case, however, it looks like an overly brittle mail reader
might be the problem.  Since you're probably not in a position to replace
that software with something more robust, an alternative would be
to go to the mailing list archive and let your browser,
rather than your mail reader, work out how to display it.  Go to 
https://groups.google.com , click "Sign in", follow the
instructions from there to list your groups, select the SCVLP
group, and you should see the message in the recent activity.

(I'm not cutting-and-pasting the message here because the original
relies on HTML fancy formatting, and if I send it to you in that
form, your mail reader will probably choke in the same way as it
does with the attachment.)
