*Bible Reading: Psalm 95:1-11*
/"Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of
our salvation. Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with
music and song." Psalm 95:1-2/
Business and beliefs. Jesus and your job. Personal and professional.
Servant and leader. Even seeing those words paired together makes many
people uneasy. Our sophisticated culture encourages us to draw lines and
keep our spiritual lives separate from our secular lives. Faith is for
Sundays or family gatherings only. Right?
The truth is that our worship of God begins on Sundays as we gather with our
Christian family. It is there that we gather around God's Word. It is there
that we hear the declaration that our sins are forgiven. And it is there
that we are reassured of the home we have in God's eternal kingdom. But our
worship of God does not stop when we leave the church on Sunday. Our worship
continues throughout the week as we put into practice the things we know and
believe.
As followers of Jesus, you and I simply cannot confine our worship of God to
one hour each week, on a given day and at a given place and time.
Our worship of God, if it truly is worship, touches every area of our lives.
On Monday, we worship God as we go to work and use the gifts we have been
given. On Tuesday, we worship God as we care for our families and friends.
On Wednesday, our worship continues as we serve others. On Thursday, our
witness to our neighbors becomes our worship. On Friday, our attention to
daily prayer and devotion is an expression of our devotion to God. On
Saturday, how we use our free time becomes an extension of our faith. And on
Sunday, we come together, once again, to worship and to give thanks.
Don't ever let anyone convince you that worship is only for Sundays.
It's not true. Worship is a way of life for the Christian. It touches every
area of life. It begins on Sunday, as we gather with God's people and around
His Word. And from there, it leads and guides us throughout the week.

Let us pray.
Lord, teach me to not separate you from any part of my life. May I worship
you equally well throughout the week as I do on the weekend.
Remind me that faith is not just for Sundays but for every day and that my
work truly is my worship.
Help me to worship you today - through my words, my thoughts, my actions,
and my faith. Use the opportunities of this day, as well as the activities
of my life, in such a way that they become an act of worship.
Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Lead and guide me as your child. Empower me,
as I worship you, to know and do your will. For Jesus' sake I pray.
Amen.
