Hi -

Sorry this message is a bit long, but it's important and
we wanted it to be really clear.

When we met at the district gathering, we failed to vote
on the names we are supposed to offer as nominees for various
positions at the upcoming synod assembly.  After discussion
at our "First Thursday" gatherings, we have decided that
our best path forward is to re-run the entire process
electronically.

The process will have three steps, each to be given
one week to complete:
   1) registration of voters
   2) surfacing of names of nominees
   3) voting

We will use freely-available online tools to ensure that
the voting is anonymous and secure, that that the results
can be inspected.

FOUR positions need to be filled, and for each
respectively we are to choose ONE person willing
to stand for election.  The positions are:

        - District D Lay Female Synod Council Member

        - Lay Female Voting Member of Churchwide Assembly
          (to be held August 8-13 2016 in New Orleans, LA)

        - Lay Male Voting Member of Churchwide Assembly
          (to be held August 8-13 2016 in New Orleans, LA)

        - Lay Female Voting Member of Churchwide Assembly
          (to be held August 8-13 2016 in New Orleans, LA)

If you and your congregation's voting members (i.e. the members
your congregation would send to a conference or synod meeting
if it were held now) intend to participate in this process,
you MUST provide the following bits of information to conference
secretary Randy Presuhn <randy_presuhn@mindspring.com>  This is
mecessary for EVERYONE who is to vote:
   * name
   * congregation
   * lay / clergy / retired clergy
   * email address

Note well that each voter MUST have their own email address.
The tools we will use to conduct the voting require distinct
email addresses for each voter.  This information MUST be
supplied no later than 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22nd, 2015.
