Halloween greetings to all,
I would like to open with an apology for a major lapse in my communications
with you all.  I realize that there was an assumption on my part that the
synod had made it clear that the Synod assembly in October would be
occurring in concert with our annual Fall District and parish assembly,
where there would be nominations for synod openings.  As usual assumptions
are not accurate.  So I am very sorry to have missed this important detail

That said we had one of the most content laden meetings of the whole
synod.  We met longer and we entered into a discussion that is vital to the
future for the parish and as it turns out for the synod.  Bishop Mark
applauds our efforts to redefine our vision & mission for SCVLP.

To that end, we will gather on November 6th at Hope Lutheran in Santa Clara
(thanks Pastor John) for offering to host again.  There will be more on the
Encompass ministry and lots more from the Next Steps group.  I look forward
to seeing you all there.
