Dear Pastors,

The Pastor and Council felt it was important to update you on the incident =
that occurred in the Church parking lot sometime Wednesday night or in the =
early morning hours of thursday morning.=20

A person was found presumably dead in a car late Thursday morning in the pa=
rking lot. The police are apparently treating the incident as a homicide. T=
he tragedy is in no way thought to be associated with the church or any of =
the property users.

The church parking lot was closed all day as a crime scene investigation. T=
he police were most cordial and cooperative. The parking lot closure did no=
t prevent the regularly scheduled activities. The police attended to their =
business of investigation while we attended to ours of educating children a=
bout the blessings of life.

The Pre School and After School programs functioned fairly normally during =
the day. The children and Teachers handled the situation very well in a mos=
t professional manner. The parking lot was opened once again in the late af=
ternoon.

We felt it was important to inform you of some details to avoid possibiliti=
es of misinformation or rumors that may be passed around. Full details of t=
he police investigation will eventually reveal the facts. =20

Grace Church is a center for programs and activities that are helping to bu=
ild a better community. The property is always filled with people from all =
cultures and countries and we all happily work together. We intend to maint=
ain that spirit and way of life seeking the better things which enhance und=
erstanding and self improvement. We pray for those whose lives are broken b=
y evil and are chained to violence.
