Hello Everyone,

I am writing to let you know about an upcoming training opportunity to help
create more Reconciling in Christ (RIC) settings
<http://www.reconcilingworks.org/RIC> in the Northern California region and
beyond. As you may know, Reconciling in Christ is the Lutheran welcoming
church program of ReconcilingWorks. The Building an Inclusive Church
training helps individuals design and implement a process for a
congregation to publicly and intentionally welcome people of all gender
identities and sexual orientations.

If you are currently in an RIC process, if you are thinking about starting
an RIC process, or if you fear what would happen if you began openly
discussing a welcome to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people,
this training could be for you and/or members of your congregation.
Building an Inclusive Church focuses on ways to create dialogue, building
relationships rather than sparking debate and division. Many of the
techniques come from faith-based community organizing.

Here are more details about the training.
<http://welcomingresources.org/communityorg.htm>

There will be a BIC Training at Holy Trinity Lutheran San Carlos on March
14th from 9am - 6pm. The cost is $30/person
You can register here.
<http://ngltf.convio.net/site/Calendar?id=100541&view=Detail>

I hope that if this isn't something for your congregation that you will
pass it on to your ecumenical neighbors and partners where you are. My
reach in this valley is limited and I'm hoping that you will help me to
spread the word and open up opportunity.

Thank you very much!
Manda Truchinski
