Hi -

A few notes from your conference secretary:

- Don't forget about the weekly text study opportunities!
  These events are posted both on our website http://scvlp.com and our
  FaceBook page.  If you happen to also be a FaceBook
  "friend" of mine, you should also get invitations to
  these.  If you "like" the page but are not one of my "friends",
  you won't get the invitations.  Sorry, but that's just the way
  it works. (And yes, I'm happy to accept your friend requests.)

- As Facebook has refined its business model, the visibility
  of our Facebook page has declined considerably.  I find it
  difficult to justify spending money to ensure that FaceBook
  delivers event invitations to you, but do see a few
  alternatives:
    1) switch from having a "page" to making it a "group"
    2) drop it altogether - we'd have one less thing to maintain,
       but it has been convenient home for events
    3) do nothing, but recognize that the probability is low that
       anything posted there will be seen in a timely manner

- I've added a new "Help Wanted" page to the website.
  I'll rely on all of you to let me know when your postings
  should be taken down!

Your ideas how we can make our communication more effective
are most welcome!
